The Creative Process
We pride ourselves on providing only the highest quality of finish here at CTA HQ, something our very valued customers repeatedly complement us on. This in part is due to our selective procurement of fabrics, materials, tools and committed practice. Our preferred fabric is sourced direct from Liberty London, reknowned for the highest quality. All of the animals are child safe, non toxic toys sourced from several well known brands but namely Schleich. Whilst our party animals are just so cute that you could eat them all up, sadly they’re not edible, this does mean however that your new additions can be kept as forever keepsakes for many celebrations to come or to make your shelf decor game even more unique!

So, Who Are We?
A journey that started back in early 2018 with an ambition to create something a little different for a friend’s birthday cake turned into a slight obsession for handcrafting teeny tiny party hats and various other accessories for toy animals. A hobby that eventually allowed me (Harley) to dive into the exciting world of full time self employment in 2019 and we haven’t looked back since! 2019 had a rocky start with a car crash and health scare that put a lot of lifes’ little insecurities into perspective for us both, this enabled me to put the prospect of self employment at the forefront of my focus and I’m so glad that I did! Our business has grown into an online community that we’re incredibly proud of, our clients and followers mean so much to us and without them CTA would not be where it is today!
So, how do we run things here at CTA HQ? With my passion and qualifications for Fine Art, Business Development, Teaching and Marketing, Cake Topper Animals is my brain baby! I absolutely love managing the everyday needs of our social media, product development, the entire hand making process, accounts and procurement. Whilst Grant, more affectionately known as ‘Mr. Hubbs’ to our followers, is my backbone, my parcel packer, delivery service, branding man and greatest fan! With his actual occupation as a Fashion and 3D Designer, Grant designs all of CTA’s branded content and packaging from our logo to the cute little stickers that adorn each and every parcel! I often refer to myself as a ‘one woman band’ as I am CTA’s only employee but really, when I need it most, we’re a team!
Select your animal
Every party animal is completely unique and bespoke here at Cake Topper Animals, with each party animal being made to order. If you know exactly what you’d like, simply visit the ‘Shop’ tab on our website, select the animal(s) you’d like using the drop down menu to select the head gear and further selecting any other accessories you’d like to add from the remaining drop down menus. There is a text box on each page asking for your personalisation options – please provide as many details as you can to ensure we match your exact colour, fabric and design needs. This aspect is extremely important to us so please provide an entire essay if you want to – it’s all in the detail, after all! You will then be required to provide your required delivery date using the calendar function. For further details on selecting the right ‘required delivery date’ for you, please be sure to familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions to avoid any disappointment.
Select your date
At checkout, there is an option to select the date of your event. As we are often fully booked most weeks and months in advance, you will not be able to select a date within 8 calendar days of your date of order. We cannot rush orders as this compromises the handmade quality of our work and goes against our business ethos. However, we do from time to time have ready made party animals in stock and so you are more than welcome to get in touch with us directly to talk about your last minute requirements!
Bespoke Orders
If you have an idea in mind for a bespoke order we are always heavily customer led in our design approach and fully welcome your design brief. A Polite Request…
We are often asked where we source our supplies from or what certain aspects of our designs are made from. Whilst this is a very flattering request, we regret that we cannot share these intimate details with you. We work extremely hard to procure the very best supplies and develop each and every accessory so that it can be the very best it can be, this takes time, years of devoted practice and knowledge and inner creativity derived from tons of research that we just can’t part with. This is my (Harley) sole source of income, my work is also Design protected so by keeping our methods top secret I in turn can protect my hard work and financial income. To put it into context, it would be a little like asking The Colonel for his secret KFC recipe…so we politely request that our own design secrets remain exactly that, thank you for your understanding.
